At DEAN, we utilize a variety of caisson configurations to provide safe, controlled, and dry work environments in locations that would otherwise be difficult—or nearly impossible—to access.
From inland marshes to coastal waters, our caisson systems enable efficient pipeline inspection and repair while minimizing environmental impact. These specialized solutions allow our crews to safely perform critical maintenance in challenging conditions without compromising quality or safety.
Today, we're highlighting our Deepwater Caisson System, designed to provide dry access to subsea pipelines in water depths of up to 36 feet. This system creates a controlled work environment for a wide range of repair activities, including:
✔️ Blasting and coating
✔️ Sleeve installations
✔️ Pipeline cut-outs and replacements
✔️ Inspections and integrity assessments
✔️ Additional maintenance and repair services
The Deepwater Caisson can be installed on pipelines up to 30 inches in diameter and offers multiple configuration options to accommodate longer inspection and repair scopes.
No matter how challenging the environment, DEAN has the expertise, equipment, and innovative solutions to make pipeline repairs safer, drier, and more efficient.

Most pipeline repairs in wetlands and marine environments come with the same challenge — access and safety.

That’s where engineered caisson systems come into play.

At DEAN, our teams utilize aluminum caisson boxes in a variety of configurations to achieve the safest methods to create controlled, dry work environments in areas that would otherwise be difficult or nearly impossible to access.

From inland marshes to coastal waters, these systems allow for safe, efficient inspection and repair while minimizing environmental impact. Dean would like to highlight all of the configurations we have to offer and show the ability we have to make the toughest areas safer and drier while performing your repairs. This week, we would like to discuss our large caisson box, with the ability to work in approx. 20’ of water and constructed with a 72” pipe opening for performing repairs on your larger diameter pipelines. This box is 11’ x 12’ with the capability of installing a complete 10’ sleeve or the ability to see over 11’ of repair area, for coating repairs or general pipe inspections.

This weekend, DEAN had the opportunity to attend the 13th Annual Louisiana Pipeliners Fishing Rodeo in Grand Isle, LA.

Despite challenging weather conditions, our team enjoyed three great days on the water, connecting with industry peers and making the most of every moment. Rain, wind, and rough seas couldn’t dampen the experience—or the camaraderie that makes events like this so worthwhile.
