Thoughts for the day:
I've received a lot of compliments on our photos of completed work. Accepting compliments was awkward when I first started hiring a professional photographer without responding with a counter such as, "thanks but I wish we wouldve designed it this way" or "thanks but it doesn't look as good as such and such". For me, it comes from a place of wanting to push forward, or learning and improving so we can make the next project better. But sometimes slowing down and allowing yourself to be proud of your work is okay too.
It's easy to compare your work with everything on social media. At the end of the day, it's important to accept where you're at and understand that it's a continuous learning process one job at a time. Smiling and responding with, "thank you, let me tell you about this job" helps you accept the process and take a moment to be proud of your work.
I'm incredibly proud of the work that our team creates. And capturing great pictures is a way for me to show off a bit.
