As Educators, we cannot afford to encourage the use of A.I. (and other advanced digital tools) for ourselves professionally without also identifying and encouraging the creative, productive, & ethical use of those same tools for our Learners

Iron sharpens iron!

and his organization do an AWEsome job at helping educators find the intersections between practical professional usage, tagerted training for self improvement, and intentional methods for facilitating the exposure of these tools for others (ie learning with your scholars as their teacher 😉)

Are we ready to have this conversation yet? Many schools and districts believe that they are too underfunded/understaffed to afford another “extracurricular” . But can we afford not to institute these shifts in curricular when the alternative looks very similar to that movie “Idiocracy”

The truth is self sufficiency and sustainability are aligned to our academics not separate and as educator we need to find more ways to infuse that natural knowledge into learning.

Stay tuned for resources and guides to help schools and educators facilitate urban farming programming into there schools

When learners engage their work and the world in new and interesting ways, the shift in how they see things grants them access to new(er) opportunities. The fact is that their increase in exposure to new and interesting ideas also increases the number of spaces that those ideas can be expressed within; and vice versa. That fearlessness in curiosity and explorative play is the essence of Project Based Learning. When learners find ways to take advantage of the mindset and the exposure, they can develop the world as they envision.

Infusing play into learning, doesn’t make learning fun… it makes fun instructional

“A new world engaged. A new opportunity accessed. A new day developed”

📸:Naya Ellis, a freshman at John F. Kennedy High School in New Orleans, was inspired to create her stroke detecting watch in 2024 through a program called STEM NOLA, where K-12 students learn and participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering and math projects
📸:Chika Ofili U.K., made a historical discovery by unearthing a new mathematical formula to make the study of mathematics easier to understand. Seeing that one of his homework assignments didn’t have a memorable way to decide if a number is divisible by 7, he created and proved his own method

•Happy Pi Day•

•Pi which we often represent by the lower-case Greek letter π, is one of the most well-known mathematical constants. It is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. For any circle, the distance around the edge is a little more than three times the distance across that same circle’s middle.

•Typing π into a calculator and pressing ENTER will give you 3.141592654, not because this is Pi’s exact value, but because a calculator usually only displays 10 digits.

•Pi is actually an irrational number (a decimal digit with NO END and no repeating pattern) which mean Pi goes on FOREVER. Most times when we ise Pi we round Pi to the decimal digit “3.14” or the fraction 22 over 7. Happy 3/14 day.
