Kepler-62f is a potentially habitable exoplanet located approximately 990 light-years from Earth in the constellation Lyra. It was discovered by NASA's Kepler Space Telescope in 2013 as part of the five-planet Kepler-62 system.

It’s ! Here’s your space weather report for the week of July 10 - July 16:
• 1 M-class flare
• 3 C-class flares
• 29 coronal mass ejections
• 0 geomagnetic storms

This video from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) shows the week’s activity.

Those “blackouts” in the video below aren’t missing data — those are Earth eclipses! SDO is currently in its 33rd Earth eclipse season, which began on July 5 and will continue through August 2. Eclipse seasons are three-week periods twice a year when the spacecraft’s orbit passes “behind” Earth, briefly blocking out SDO's view of the Sun each day.

Same target. Same universe. Two completely different realities.

The JWST image reveals stunning detail — sharp diffraction spikes, multiple bright young stars, and intricate structures hidden in dust. Hubble sees a glowing orange cloud with softer, warmer tones but loses a lot of the fine detail and hidden features that infrared can pierce through.

This is what happens when you upgrade from visible light to infrared astronomy. JWST doesn’t just take prettier pictures — it looks through the cosmic dust that blocks Hubble’s view, showing us the hidden nurseries where stars are born.

Technology level: humanity flexing hard. 🚀
