Thrilled to be part of Reimagining Libraries: Innovation, Space, and Community Impact, a conversation with library leaders, community partners, and peers exploring the evolving role of libraries.

Karen offered insights from the Greenpoint Library on the Programming and Design panel, moderated by Tanya, as part of a broader discussion on libraries as spaces for learning, connection, and civic life.

Thank you to Chris Templeman, Kyle Nolan, and Keishara Colby for bringing everyone together, to Morgan Stanley for hosting, and to our fellow panelists—Maxine Bleiweis, Acacia Thompson, Towanda Mathurin, and Lisa Gayhart—and everyone who joined us yesterday morning.

We’re honored that the Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center has been featured by NYC DCP as a case study in their Principles of Good Urban Design. In the study, the library is recognized for strengthening daily community life, connecting indoor and outdoor environments, and advancing environmental education through integrated sustainable design.

With gratitude to our collaborators, the Brooklyn Public Library, and the Greenpoint community, the library continues its long legacy as a community anchor in Greenpoint and a leading example of high-quality civic design in New York City.

Earlier this month, we welcomed curious New Yorkers into two of our projects with the Brooklyn Public Library for Open House New York Weekend.

For the first time, we offered tours in partnership with the Center for Brooklyn History, where Tanya shared a closer look at our recently completed renovation.

At the Greenpoint Library, Jason shared how the project grew from community engagement, becoming a hub for activism, learning, and NYC social infrastructure.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to OHNY for organizing such a wonderful weekend.

We had the pleasure of opening our doors for the Architectural League’s 2025 Student Program. Students toured our workspace, explored Marble Fairbanks’ projects, and joined conversations with Katie, Peter, and Christina about their professional journeys.

Their curiosity and thoughtful questions left us inspired. Thank you to the Architectural League and to all the students who joined us.

One year ago, we celebrated the groundbreaking for the future home of the National Parks of Boston Headquarters at the Charlestown Navy Yard.

Now in the Construction Documents phase, we’re building on that momentum to reimagine historic Building 107 as a hub that centralizes staff and supports the evolving needs of the National Parks of Boston (NPB) team.

This adaptive reuse project is designed to strengthen connections across NPB’s workgroups, parks, and partners. The transformed headquarters will include a range of spaces from communal gathering areas to focused work zones, collections storage, and a welcoming entry point for both staff and the public, honoring the historic significance of Building 107 and its role within the Charlestown Navy Yard.

Then → Now

Earlier this year, we began the revitalization of historic Building 324 on Governors Island through our ongoing partnership with the Trust for Governors Island.

Originally built in 1926 as the Fort Jay YMCA, this Neo-Georgian building stood vacant for years. We’re stabilizing its core and exterior, making critical repairs, and preserving its distinctive architectural features to prepare it for a new tenant.

This project actively safeguards an important piece of the island’s history while supporting its evolution into a dynamic, year-round destination.
