M3 Material Description:

In the 21st century, engineers use science to produce materials that meet a multitude of specific needs, rather than designing around any single materials limitations. The M3 proce
ss creates macro molecular materials whose characteristics are the sum of its parts. This is achieved by creating true micellization and homogeneity in three dimensions of all of the included elements. The result is a new material with its own unique macro molecular structure and characteristics. M3 Metals cannot conduct electricity so they are immune to the destructive effect of electrolysis caused by dissimilar metals. The Micelle Phenomenon occurs between the macro-molecular molecules (metal) and the hybrid binder, wherein molecules of the hybrid binder distribute themselves evenly around each individual particle of metal. So, unlike metallic paint, where metal flakes are merely floating in random suspension inside a polymer fluid, each M3 macro-molecule is distributed evenly with homogenous precision. M3 Metals cannot corrode due to the same reasons described above. Even highly reactive metals such as iron which rusts when exposed to moisture can't rust or rot through when it is part of the M3 composite matrix. For example; we produce M3 Core-Ten Steel which we chemically patina to achieve a rusted finish. This patina only goes one macro molecule deep and then stops, leaving a beautiful rusted finish that will never change. The next macro molecule is fully protected by the hybrid binder which is impervious to almost everything. M3 Metal colors run completely through the material and are UV stabile. In the case of an accident, scratches are simply rubbed or buffed out and the material will look as good as the day it was produced. NOTE: People who react poorly to cooper based metals will react the same to M3 Copper based metals. This is why we recommend our M3 Titanium Mokume for consumer goods. All M3 Metals are impervious to microbes and our copper based M3 styles are antimicrobial. Silver nano-particles can also be incorporated into any of our materials if an antimicrobial product is desired. M3 Processes similar to Acetate but finishes like Metal. M3 has been engineered to cut, carve, grind and sand smoothly and then polish to a hard, durable gem quality finish. The material is very stable and will hold the finest detail including threads. Any good epoxy or CA glue will create a permanent bond with M3 and almost any other material including gem stones. Colors and patterns run completely through the material and the finished product is beautiful, lightweight, very strong, comfortable to wear, feels good to touch and will last for many generations. M3 processes with CNC milling as well as laser. In many cases M3 will process faster and with less tool sharpening than other materials saving both time and money. The M3 gem quality finish can be achieved with mass finishing systems. Small radius bends can be achieved by applying heat from a heat gun or oven; not open flame. M3 Bonds Permanently to itself and almost any other material including gem stones using a good Epoxy or CA glue. Perfect for, segments, inlays and veneers.
