Good morning and thank you for supporting our family small business, Allison and Sons HVAC!
Because of your support and overwhelming referrals we are growing to better serve our customers!
2013 I began the journey of a HVAC apprenticeship under a licensed contractor mentor with 30+ years field experience. Where I served faithfully for 10 years and was a lead installer and service technician. In my time there I was shown honest work and was never given incentive for commission sales. The mission was simple, take care of our customers like your own family. Doing whatever it took and offering solutions. We carry that same business model today, ensuring our family keeps your family comfortable!
My time in the field showed me that there was a competitive edge to gain. Condmened units that could be repaired. Practices of forcing families to upgrade equipment with price gouging and selling finance deals. Big name companies doing sloppy installs not taking pride in their work. Illegal venting of refrigerant damaging the ozone. Brazing dirty, not flowing the required nitrogen causing premature part failures.
And an underlying theme of no transparency with the customers. Appalled at the dishonesty I set out on a mission, raise the standard and be the change.
Taking pride in our work, operating in integrity and treating the customer like family.
Communicating clearly the state of your HVAC system and offering options on what best suits your needs. We want your family comfortable done affordably!
Another step we took to better serve you was obtaining our state contractor license thru the OCILB (Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board)
This can be difficult for many companies to secure due to the nature of applying.
You must have at least 5 years of field experience under a licensed company. And be on record of being on two city permitted jobs for each of those years. After approval and background check then you may sit for your exam where you are rigorously tested in the Ohio Mechanical code, international Fuel Gas code and the modern refrigeration manual. As well as the Ohio business contractor exam.
Having a contractor license ensures your contractor is operating within the code for your safety and well being and is up to date with industry standards. It also means the contractor is carrying the correct amount of insurance for your protection. A required 10 hours of continuing educated is required to maintain the license. If you have questions about a contractors license the OCILB has a contractor look up site where you can identify who is licensed and who is not. Make sure the license number matches the company name!
If you think the price is too high and you need a second opinion than you probably do.
