Today at The Digital Factory, Formlabs announced the Fuse 1, a 3D printer that brings the industrial power of selective laser sintering (SLS) to the benchtop, and Form Cell, our automated 3D printing solution for manufacturing powered by the Form 2.

A great read discussing some of the differences between FDM printing and SLA printing and some of the pros of the later. Different printing methods/machines are better for different end user applications. Mo3D has and does both SLA and FDM.

In SLA prints, there is no difference between the Z-axis and the XY plane in terms of chemical bonds; each continuous part printed on an SLA machine is a continuous polymer network.
