Time for class!

A thermostat, a DIY homeowners favorite thing to save money on and super easy to do right? The issue — pleaaaaase make sure you put the wires where they’re supposed to go. Particularly important when you don’t have the now standard amount of wires, and only have 4, like most older homes have

This wiring mishap caused the AC to run 24/7 for months (no exaggeration I promise), sky rocketing energy bills, and fighting against the furnace when the furnace was trying to heat which made it run for longer and A LOT more than it should’ve.

Not to mention all the overworking of the components of their HVAC.

This cost saving DIY thermostat replacement — now ended up costing hundreds of dollars more in excessive energy bills and paying me to come out and identify and fix their issue.

**side note - check out how dirty the AC was…so when I post and say it’s tune up time, don’t ignore it and let the AC get like this 👀

We have a LEAK

Not something you expect to see on a 2-year-old system…but unfortunately it does happen. Thankfully we were able to get it fixed up for them and utilize that part warranty to make the costs a bit easier to swallow!

Previous companies tried using leak sealers and additives into the system as opposed to using the given warranties and making the problem go away permanently!

Came out for standard “no cool” call and just so happened to hear some faint hissing coming from somewhere near the AC as I kept walking by, am I crazy — maybe, but one way to be sure 😁

See those bubbles? That’s gas escaping at the connections

This is why we don’t just show up, fix what we’re there to fix and move on. We look at everything, not so we can find things to sell you — but so we can make sure things you didn’t know about are brought to your attention

Different company might’ve got the AC running and missed this completely

We caught it. We got it handled. Homeowner stays safe
