Wow! What an incredible experience-

It was an honor to sit in on Sarah Wynn’s interview with Buddy Valastro of Cake Boss and Carlo's Bakery fame. Getting to hear Buddy speak firsthand was truly captivating. I get why he became a worldwide sensation!

From sharing his experience with Combi’s ErgoPack to discussing plans for a fully automated system, his conversation with Packaging OEM was packed with insight and inspiration from an end-of-line packaging perspective. We are excited to see the story Sarah tells.

From a small rebuild shop near Canton, Ohio to the company Combi is today, some people have been there for every step of the journey.
Ron Gillard has been one of them.

As Employee #4, Ron was there when Combi America was just getting started. Over the next 44 years, he helped shape the foundation we stand on today at Combi Packaging Systems. Ron wore many hats along the way:

• Machine Shop Manager
• Weld Shop Leader
• Safety Director
• Facilities Supervisor

But titles only tell part of the story.

Ron built more than processes and workflows. He built standards, culture, and a deep commitment to doing things the right way. He mentored teams, kept people safe, and took pride in every detail. In true Ron fashion, he made sure we completed one last successful tornado drill just days before retiring because nothing mattered more than knowing his team would be safe.

That’s our Ron.

We will cherish the memories and miss seeing his smiling face each day.

Combi Packaging is proud to give back to the community we call home.

This year, we officially adopted the Hoover Trail, part of the Stark Park system. With 15 dedicated Combi volunteers, we hit the trail ready to make a difference. From digging into bushes to tracking down every last speck of litter and debris, we covered every stretch of the crushed limestone path. We even wiped down the trail signs!

Our first cleanup was as fun as it was rewarding, knowing that we are bringing the trail back to its full beauty just in time for warmer weather.
It’s a simple way to make a real impact by supporting our local environment, strengthening our community, and taking pride in the spaces we all share.

Thank you to everyone who jumped in and got their hands dirty. We’re looking forward to keeping the Hoover Trail looking its best all year long. 🌿
