The IEEE or Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers is an international non-profit, professional organization for the advancement of technology related to electricity. It has the most members of any technical professional organization in the world, with more than 395,000 members in around 150 countries
Here at NYIT ( Old Westbury ) we have a student chapter which gives students the oppor
tunity to make ideas come to life. We do this by incorporating student ideas into projects to benefit our knowledge, the campus, and society. We also participate in Competitions which enable us to showcase the skills that are learned and developed from our education. The Old Westbury (OW) IEEE is composed of students in many different majors such as Electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, and Mechanical engineering.
