Are you treating epoxy, polyaspartic, and urethane like they’re interchangeable? They’re not.

Each chemistry has its strengths:

• Epoxy provides excellent adhesion, build, and moisture-mitigation options.
• Polyaspartic offers fast return to service and strong UV stability.
• Urethane provides excellent resistance to abrasion and chemicals.

The right choice depends on the substrate, environment, downtime, and expected use—not simply which product cures fastest.

After over 30 years in the coatings industry, I’ve learned that choosing the right chemistry upfront prevents failures, protects your reputation, and reduces costly callbacks.

op Letting System Selection Stall Your Bids

Choosing the right flooring system doesn’t have to be complicated. Start by asking four basic questions:

• Is moisture present in the concrete?
• How much downtime can the facility allow?
• What chemicals or abrasion will the floor face?
• What surface preparation will be required?

The best coating system isn’t always the most expensive one—it’s the one that fits the conditions and performs as expected.

After over 30 years in the coatings industry, I’m always happy to help contractors work through these decisions.

Rising temps can make or break your coating application. Heat changes more than just the temperature—it drastically impacts your working time, accelerates cure rates, and tightens your application windows.

Don't let hot conditions compromise your project schedules or your Epoxy, Urethane, Polyaspartic, or MVB installations.
Proactive planning and environmental monitoring are the keys to a flawless finish.

Stop guessing with your concrete coatings. 🛑

Epoxy, polyaspartic, and urethane might look similar when you’re comparing samples, but they are absolutely not interchangeable. Specifying the wrong topcoat for a project can lead to costly failures, unnecessary delays, and blown budgets down the road.

When deciding on the right system, you have to look closely at the exact demands of the environment:
✔️ Daily traffic (Foot traffic vs. heavy equipment)
✔️ Chemical exposure risks
✔️ Abrasion resistance requirements
✔️ Downtime limitations for the facility

Every project is unique, and applying a one-size-fits-all approach just doesn’t work in commercial and industrial flooring.

Don’t leave your next project up to chance. Send me a DM or call (909) 645-5325 before you spec the system so we can ensure you have the exact right Simiron products for the job.
