Buildup from grease, sludge, roots, and debris happens slowly over time. Most people don’t realize there’s an issue until they’re dealing with backups, slow drains, or even sewage coming up where it shouldn’t. 🤢 Regular professional cleaning (like hydro jetting) doesn’t just clear clogs, it helps prevent major problems and extends the life of your sewer line. If it’s been a while—or you’ve never had it done—it might be worth taking a look before a small issue turns into a big repair.

Kitchen drain issues aren’t always about clogs. Sometimes it’s the way the line was installed in the first place. I recently completed a repair for a customer whose kitchen drain line was laid too flat, lacking the proper fall needed for gravity to do its job. The result? Constant slow drainage and recurring backups. To fix it, I removed the existing cast iron 45° fittings that were contributing to the poor slope. Using a specialized cutter blade, I carefully reamed and prepped the existing cast iron piping to ensure a solid connection point. From there, I replumbed the drain line with the correct pitch to restore proper flow. In addition, I installed a new 1.5” clean out, making future maintenance and access much easier. Now the system drains the way it should—smooth, efficient, and built to last. If you’re dealing with frequent backups, the issue might be deeper than a simple clog. Proper grading makes all the difference.

Wrapped up a full-service drain and sewer line treatment for a new customer, and it’s always satisfying to see the transformation from start to finish. Performed a detailed camera inspection to get a clear, real-time look inside the line. This step is key helping to identify buildup, scale, root intrusion, or any structural concerns before jumping into cleaning. Next came hydro jetting, where we used high-pressure water to break through years of grease, sludge, and debris. This process doesn’t just poke a hole through blockages, it thoroughly cleans the pipe walls. Performed descaling to remove hardened mineral buildup and restore the pipe’s internal diameter. This step is especially important in older lines where scale can significantly restrict flow. Conducted a second camera inspection to confirm everything was fully cleared and flowing properly. The difference was night and day. If your drains are slow, backing up, or haven’t been professionally cleaned in years, this kind of comprehensive service can make a huge difference in performance and longevity.
