After last night's storm, we are already seeing an increase in reports of questionable contractors going door-to-door offering quick repairs. Please stay alert and protect yourself and your neighbors.

🚩 Red flags to watch for:

Contractors who show up uninvited and pressure you to act immediately
Requests for large upfront payments or cash-only deals
No written estimates or contracts
Lack of proper licensing or insurance
Offers to “cover your deductible” or handle insurance in suspicious ways

✅ How to protect yourself:

Always research companies before hiring
Ask for proof of licensing and insurance
Get multiple written estimates
Never pay the full amount upfront
Verify reviews and references
