I had a wonderful opportunity to volunteer a day of work for charity with a great non profit organization, Rebuilding Together Petaluma, Inc Who apply essential and necessary home improvements to people who are physically and financially unable to do so. I had the honor of working alongside a plethora of current tradespersons, local politicians past and current... and future? Aaand a documentary film crew featuring your Sonoma County Rawkstar Carpenter personality KyleYote ?!
Whoa, that's about as awesome as a fresh stoop outside your front door that's not in a volatile state of disrepair!

Yay fun jobs at work! And Wikipedia! Today the term wainscot refers commonly to the different treatment of the lower part of the wall (roughly a meter, 3-4 feet)
In architecture, the dado is the lower part of a wall, below the dado rail and above the skirting board. The word is borrowed from Italian meaning "dice" or "cube", and refers to "die" , an architectural term for the middle section of a pedestal or plinth.

Volunteered with in Sebastopol on Saturday, the non-profit that focuses on helping underprivileged, low income, physically disabled and elderly with much needed repairs on their homes. We demolished and replaced a rotten stairway and did some foundational work on a modular unit in a retirement community while Linda Hopkins, the 5th district supervisor for Sonoma County, pulling weeds! It's a relief to see a local politician putting in some physical work knowing that there is a serious labor shortage in the construction world!
