Be prepared for the extreme wind and cold coming up this weekend starting this Friday. This will be the coldest Christmas since 1989! Here are some things to prevent a break down on your heating system.
1- Make sure your heater is cleaned and serviced annually by a professional who is licensed and insured.
2- If you have forced hot air heat make sure your filters are clean.
Vents are opened and clear.
3- If you have oil heat make sure you have plenty of oil.
4- If you have an above ground oil tank make sure your oil lines are completely insulated where exposed outside to prevent a frozen oil line.
5- Make sure the heat is on in all areas of the house even if those spaces are unoccupied to prevent frozen pipes. ( 60-65 degrees minimum)
6- In the evenings during extreme wind and cold you may want to crack the indoor faucets very slightly to keep water moving through pipes to prevent a frozen pipe. A slow drip is usually fine.
7- Make sure that your batteries are changed in your thermostat annually.(not all thermostats require batteries)
8- If you have a heat pump (outdoor unit) make sure it is free of any debris including ice and snow.
9- If you have a high efficiency gas or propane furnace make sure the intake and exhaust pipes(pvc pipes) are not blocked by debris, ice, or snow.

Hey KIDS! It's time to sign up for the D&S Boat Sales, Inc. 2nd Annual Kids Catfish Derby! It’s going to be even better than last year, and last year was pretty great! A few changes this year: We are opening the event to all kids 18 and under! 16 and over will need a fishing license! We are also making it a shorter day, with better organized categories and tracking methods for weights! Of course, the Kono Pizza Food Truck will still be on site to give a free plain cone to the all the participants. Trophies will again be provided by White Trophy who is donating four awesome trophies!

Please sign your children up as soon as possible so we know how many kids to expect! We will update on the deadline for signups as soon as possible!
