Welcome back to school, educators!

Last week, Dr. Nesra Yannier and Lindsey Vicoria hosted a Professional Development session in the COTRAIC Hazelwood Head Start and Pre-K Program with teachers. Educators were able to get hands-on experience through a demonstration of our SmartRamps unit. This module focuses on Forces and Motion as students explore relationships between weight, velocity, friction, potential energy, measurement, and more. We are excited for our partnership with Trying Together and Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center Head Start thanks to the PNC Grow up Great Program!

At NoRILLA, we believe STEAM learning can start early—and that it should be interactive, engaging, and fun. Our curriculum includes three hands-on units: ① EarthShake, ② SmartRamps, and ③ our newest BalanceShip unit, with over 45 lessons aligned with national and state standards.

Each NoRILLA module combines the benefits of hands-on learning with safely controlled, AI-supported inquiry to help children explore concepts, make predictions, test their ideas, and discover answers for themselves. With personalized, interactive feedback, students can learn through meaningful activities that connect to the world around them.

This year, we were thrilled to launch our BalanceShip unit, which teaches concepts of mathematics, ratios, equations, and proportional reasoning aligned with NGSS and STEELS standards.

A special thank you to Lauren Ondecko (STEAM teacher at Elizabeth Forward School District) and Jana Stahl (STEAM teacher at Avonworth School District (Official Page)) for doing an outstanding job implementing the BalanceShip curriculum and enhancing it with their own creative additions.

We're also excited to share results from five schools involving more than 600 students using NoRILLA during the 2025–26 school year. The data showed a substantial increase in students' scientific explanations—a key skill that supports critical thinking and problem-solving and aligns with STEELS, NGSS, and standardized assessments.

Students using NoRILLA's AI-enhanced Intelligent Science Stations demonstrated learning gains that were 10 times greater than their expected natural yearly progression.

Selected from more than 1,400 projects submitted by companies and universities around the world, our technology was recognized for its innovation, impact, and ability to transform learning experiences for students.

This award is a tremendous validation of NoRILLA’s mission to make learning more engaging and interactive for children through cutting-edge technology. We’re incredibly grateful to our talented team, partners, educators, and students who have helped make this achievement possible, and we thank the judges for their thoughtful feedback and support.

The Transform category recognizes solutions that have already reached more than 10,000 users and demonstrate the potential for large-scale impact in education.

NoRILLA recently hosted an exciting AI/STEM learning workshop at Carnegie Mellon University for local school districts!

We were thrilled to hear from Jana Stahl, K-5 STEM Educator from Avonworth School District (Official Page), who shared her experiences using NoRILLA to enhance AI-supported STEM learning in her classroom and inspire student engagement.

We were also excited to introduce BalanceShip, our third intelligent science station designed to help students build understanding in math, ratios, equalities, and proportional reasoning!
