Many of our scientists are also educators, sharing their knowledge at industry tradeshows and conferences, through whitepapers and technical journals, and by serving on standards and regulatory committees. Allison Laneve, who teaches a course in Criminal Forensics at Duquesne University, recently shared her expertise with a much younger audience. She gave a presentation on being a Forensic Scientist and using the scientific method, where she and the students worked together to solve the case of the "mystery powder" using the ALS (alternate light source), chemical reactions, and the steps of the scientific method.
