Today was a special day at Telemundo’s Al Rojo Vivo! 🎥✨
I’m excited to share our collaboration with AWS re/Start Workforce Training, creating pathways to help more people build in-demand technology skills and pursue new career opportunities.

As we look ahead to Hispanic Heritage Month, this collaboration is especially meaningful. It’s a reminder of the importance of expanding access to workforce training, technology education, and opportunities for the Hispanic community.

Drawing from their own journeys in tech, Ashley Prado and Veronica Rojas Mora explore what it means to authentically navigate these spaces as young women — sharing honest reflections on imposter syndrome, how to show up as your full self in rooms that weren’t always built for you, and practical ways to harness AI as a tool for community impact. Ashley Prado, a graduate student in Data Science & AI at FIU, brings experience from software engineering internships at Microsoft and Siemens, research in machine learning and NLP, and her work as President of the Society of Women Engineers at FIU. After navigating her own path as an immigrant from Venezuela, she founded the Immigrant Student Center to help other immigrant students access the resources to thrive.

Veronica Rojas Mora, an undergraduate in Cybersecurity FIU, is an Amazon Future Engineer Scholar with experience interning at AWS and building AI-powered projects like ClariTA AI, which placed 3rd at ShellHacks 2025. She’s also the founder of Latinos on Campus, helping Latino and first-generation students navigate college access and career readiness.
