It's sad to find a customer hired a bigger company to have a quality furnace installed, but the company failed to setup the equipment they sold.
This customer purchased a two stage furnace from another local company but they never took the time to setup the equipment. Customer has a single stage thermostat paired with a two stage furnace, and the furnace comes from the factory to be setup with a two stage thermostat. This customer has two identical furnaces that have been operating on just one stage for multiple years now. It doesn't matter how big a company is in your area it's really about if they do the job the correct way from the beginning.
If you have an Armstrong or a ducane that's two stage just look at the control board wiring if there's only a wire going to W1 but your furnace is a two stage and the #1 dip switch on the furnace control board is set to off then it's wrong flip it up to the on position and that means it will kick over to the second stage after 7-10 minutes or else it will always just stay in the 1st stage of heat and you should have just purchased a single stage furnace.
If you need any help or have any concerns that your equipment isn't setup properly just give us a call and we would be glad to help. We only care about getting the most out of the equipment you have.
