Agate Beach Neighborhood and Dog Park | Newport, OR

HHPR has recently completed another great park project at the Agate Beach Neighborhood and Dog Park in Newport, OR. The park improvements feature a new playground, a fenced in dog park area with separation for large and small dogs, a meandering concrete pathway with connections to gazebos and restrooms, park features including benches and drinking fountains, paved parking facilities, and frontage improvements. The improvements were designed to avoid impacts to the numerous existing mature trees on the site, preserving the natural character of the park, while enhancing the accessibility and usability for the community.

HHPR services included land surveying, civil engineering, landscape architecture, and construction assistance. Thank you to all the HHPR team members who made this project successful!

The $313 million, 257,000-square-foot facility opened on the Red Soils Campus in Oregon City, replacing the obsolete 1936 downtown Courthouse. The new courthouse has fourteen courtrooms, twenty judicial chambers, jury assembly, and improved prisoner transfer functions. HHPR provided civil engineering, survey, land use planning, and natural resources for the project. Congratulations to the design team and all involved on this great project!

McKay Road NE Safety Improvements Project | Marion County, OR

HHPR was hired to help alleviate the leading cause of fatal and serious injury crashes along McKay Road in NW Marion County. The McKay Road NE Traffic Safety Improvements project was ARPA funded and focused on 1.1 miles of highway widening to provide a 6 foot wide striped median with rumble strips to provide additional separation between on-coming traffic through three existing curves along the corridor. The project was completed late 2025 and included over a mile of replaced guardrail, nearly 7,000 tons of asphalt, and thousands of feet of highway ditch line regrading and landscaping. HHPR provided civil engineering, survey, environmental services, landscape architecture and and construction administration support for Marion County.

Gun Club Road | City of Woodland, WA

HHPR completed civil engineering, survey and construction project management on this WSDOT oversite Project. The City of Woodland received a grant through the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program (STBGP) to construct a bicycle lane and sidewalk on Gun Club Rd. The project starts at the intersection of Lewis River Rd and continues north on Gun Club Rd for approximately 3/4 of a mile. The project infilled 2530 feet of sidewalk with curb and gutter. 31 ADA curb ramps were constructed at the intersections, and bicycle lanes were delineated with painted buffer for the length of the project. Stormwater improvements including Contech catch basins with drywells were also installed prior to a full grind and inlay. The new sidewalk and bicycle lanes will connect several homes to the existing network of pedestrian paths that serve Woodland’s east side from Hillshire Drive to North Fork Elementary School. Neighborhoods that are currently under construction on both sides of Lewis River Road will also benefit from the additional pedestrian facilities.
