“Small Town, Big Heart” four simple words that capture the strength, unity, and spirit of our community.

Since 1996, Hoehn Plastics, Inc. has been a proud part of that heart. This second-generation, family-owned business has provided high-quality recycled resins to the injection molding industry, all from right here in the heart of the Midwest. Through innovation, teamwork, and a commitment to creative, cost-effective solutions, they’ve built lasting partnerships across the industry.

Today, Jason Hoehn and Melissa Higgins carry that legacy forward with the same values that make our town so special: hard work, dedication, and a big heart for the people around them.

This year’s parade theme, “Small Town, Big Heart,” is more than a slogan, it’s a reflection of the spirit that drives both our community and the team at Hoehn Plastics. Their parade logo was designed with this in mind. At its center is a bold red heart, representing not only the theme but also honoring the memory of Jane Snyder, a cherished team member of the Hoehn Plastics family who gave 22 years of service with passion and kindness.

Red, Jane’s favorite color, shines in the logo as a vibrant reminder of her love, her dedication, and the way she touched the lives of her co-workers, her family, and everyone she met. Just like our town, Hoehn Plastics is built on family, teamwork, and a deep love for the community.

From all of us at Hoehn Plastics, thank you for being part of our story!

In Loving Memory of Jane Snyder

A matriarch to many, a friend to all, and a cornerstone of Hoehn Plastics. Jane Snyder dedicated 22 remarkable years to Hoehn Plastics, but her legacy will live on far beyond her time here. More than an employee, Jane was family. She was the proud mother of Melissa D. Higgins and Jason Hoehn, a trusted confidant, and a steady, kind presence who embodied the values of our company with grace and strength.

Throughout her time with us, Jane wore many hats, serving as Accounting Manager, HR Manager, and most recently as Customer Materials Specialist. No matter the role, Jane built lasting relationships with those around her. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering care shaped our culture and touched every corner of our company. In many ways, Jane was the heart of Hoehn Plastics. Today, our hearts are heavy with loss, but also full of gratitude for the love she gave and the life she lived so fully.

Jane’s greatest legacy is the love she gave; and so, in her honor, we choose love, to serve, and to be fully present - for each other and for the values she lived every day!

You will be deeply missed, Jane!

💡 Did you know? The invention of synthetic plastic wasn’t just groundbreaking—it was also an effort to protect wildlife! 🐘

In 1869, John Wesley Hyatt created the first synthetic polymer in response to a $10,000 challenge to find a substitute for ivory. At the time, the growing demand for billiard balls was putting wild elephants at risk.

By treating cellulose from cotton with camphor, Hyatt developed a material that could mimic natural substances like tortoiseshell, horn, and ivory. His innovation not only shaped modern manufacturing but paved the way for companies like Hoehn Plastics to thrive—allowing us to create innovative solutions that continue to reduce reliance on natural resources and meet today’s needs. 🌍✨

From billiards to breakthroughs, plastics have changed the world. 🌟
