What is the Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm?
The Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm features five 397 foot tall turbines that provide electricity to more than 2,000 New Jersey homes without polluting the environment. The plant is currently 5 years old and opened in April of 2006. It is the first wind farm to be built in New Jersey and the first coastal wind farm in the United States.

New Jersey's wind power usage will increase substantially, however, as state regulators approved P.S.E.G.'s proposal to build 96 offshore turbines in the Atlantic Ocean that are located 16-20 miles off the coast. This is a large part of New Jersey's Energy Master Plan which hopes to have 20% of the states energy come from renewable resources by 2020.

What is the wind profile power law?
The wind profile power law is simply the relationship between the wind speeds at one height and those at another. The equation is u/ur=(z/zr)^a. where u is the wind speed (in meters per second) at height z (in meters. ur is the known wind speed at a reference height zr. A is a derived coefficient which can vary depending on the stability of the atmosphere.
