Downtown Port Huron has an area that’s evolved into what we call the Quay Street Experience. Did you know? A quay is a solid landing place, like a wharf or pier, built along the edge of a body of water. Fittingly, Port Huron's Quay St. runs alongside the Black River at the Military Street Bridge; it's almost like someone planned it that way 😉
This pocket of downtown is easy to love, especially in the summer. During the day, you’ll see boaters getting ready to spend the day on the water. At night, dock lights glow, restaurant patios fill up, and the river reflects it all. It’s the kind of place where you park once and wander. Here’s what you’ll find along the way:
1. Bootleggers Axe Co. – They have a fantastic waterside deck
2. Wings Etc. – grab a table on the deck and watch the boats drift by
3. Huron Lady II River Cruises – hop aboard a narrated public river cruise
4. Vintage Tavern – historic, delicious, and rooftop dining
5. Lynch's Irish Tavern – yes, they have an outdoor deck
6. The Laundry Room at the Wrigley Center – a tucked-away speakeasy behind the stacked washer/dryer
7. Mooncursers – another tucked away speakeasy behind the wall of axes....
8. City of Port Huron Farmers Market – Saturdays starting May 9
9. Port Huron Yacht Club – home to that forest of nautical “sticks”
10. Easternmost Point of Michigan
11. Zebra Lounge & Bowl -O- Drome - waterside restaurant
12. The Alley Room - did you know this tiny bar & restaurant existed?
13. Port Huron Nutrition - Did you know they have an amazing waterside deck?
14. The Wrigley Center – rooftop restaurant, billiards, fowling, arcade, golf simulators, candy bar, multiple bars, and revolving live entertainment
It’s easy to spend the day here. Grab a meal, watch the boats come and go, and see what entertainment is happening. That’s the Quay Street Experience, a name with meaning and a pretty great place to explore.
