Federal Engineering provides a wide range of design and management services in public safety and public service communications involving LTE as well as traditional VHF, UHF, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 4.9GHz mobile radio systems. FE also assists in the design and implementation of E911, PSAPs, ECCs, and EOCs. Since 1983, FE has completed thousands of communications projects for 40 state governm

ents, as well as numerous local and federal government clients. Most recently, FE has expanded its service offerings to support FirstNet planning in anticipation of the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network. In addition to its public sector work, Federal Engineering provides design and implementation support services for voice, data, and video networks used in the transportation, utilities, aerospace, finance, education, publishing, and computer services industries. The City and County of San Francisco, California has awarded the GenSigma / Federal Engineering, Inc. Team (GenSigma/FE) a contract to provide services to the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management (DEM) to support the implementation of the City's Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) telephone system.

GenSigma/FE will support the City’s transition from legacy Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Customer Provided Equipment (CPE), interfaces, and VoIP equipment solutions to an NG9-1-1 environment, aligned with NENA i3 standards, and compliant with the State of California’s ESInet (Emergency Services IP Network) rollout, leveraging the State of California’s 9-1-1 Systems and Services Master Purchase Agreement (MPA) for procurement.

The San Mateo County Pre-Hospital Emergency Services Group, referred to as the Joint Powers Authority, has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. a contract for consulting services. The JPA is responsible for the radio system used by its member fire agencies and is organized to provide fire, paramedic, and first response medical services through a Fire Company-based model. It operates countywide under a direct contract with the San Mateo County Health Department and is divided into 5 zones. These zones are the South Zone, Central Zone, North Zone, Coastal Zone, and the Countywide Zone, which is intertwined with the first three zones.
