Hey everyone, it’s been a couple years since I’ve posted due to taking a break from combat robots but I recently gave it a try again so here’s a write up of the event. Bot’Geddon 2025 was coming up and with the event back in 2017 being my first competition in the hobby I think it was a perfect time to step a bit in again to see what was going on in the current scene. The two robots I entered with were Angry Paperweight, and Flat Spin. Angry paperweight was still on the previous Mk5 revision and was cobbled together from spares I made a couple years back. Flat spin was on a newer Mk4 revision that I messed with a bit right as I was about to take a break from the hobby. The features were a lighter internal frame to put more weight into the shells, newer electronics, better materials, and a higher capacity battery. Now for how the robots did. Angry paperweight went 2-1 then dropped the bracket due to the first loss causing unrepairable damage with the lack of spares. I was pretty surprised I was able to get 3 fights in without the need of critical spares. Flat Spin went 0-1 only fighting once then also dropping from the bracket due to having a brushed esc (scorpion nano) dying mid fight and not having a spare for that. I’m somewhat disappointed with how the esc lasted since it was one of the new electronics that I used to replace the 6 year old Fingertech tiny escs which never had problems. Even though my bots may have not that many fights I enjoyed the event quite a bit and seeing what builders are doing these days. Will I go to more events in the future? Maybe
