We’re growing and looking for a dedicated HVAC Retrofit Installer to join our experienced installation team.
Job Summary:�The HVAC Retrofit Installer will be responsible for the removal, modification, and installation of commercial HVAC systems in existing buildings. This includes working in occupied spaces, coordinating with facility managers, and ensuring high-quality, code-compliant installations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Remove and replace existing HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls
• Install new commercial HVAC systems per retrofit plans and specifications
• Perform system start-ups and assist with commissioning
• Minimize disruption in occupied buildings by working cleanly and efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation instructions
• Work collaboratively with team members, project managers, and other trades
• Maintain safety and cleanliness on job sites

Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience with commercial HVAC installations, including retrofits
• Strong understanding of retrofit planning and system integration
• Ability to work in tight spaces, ceilings, and mechanical rooms
• EPA Universal Certification required
• OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

1) How did you get started with Northwest Arkansas Sheet Metal? -My grandfather stopped by the office and picked up an application. When I received this application, he stated that this company has been at this location since he moved here in 1989. That gave me a good confidence that I could go places with this company and have security.

2) Can you tell us about your journey to your current role?
-Started with no experience in the HVAC field. Luckily, I was a fast learner and tried to excel at the tasks presented to me. I also took exceptional pride in figuring out how things work to extend my knowledge to the purpose HVAC systems provided.

3) What’s something surprising or unique about you that your coworkers might not know?
-I painted all of the previous NWASMs owner fence and wrestled with his bull to get a tractor out at the age of 8. Never knowing that he was the owner at that time of the company I would start at later in my career.

4) How do you spend your time outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you’re passionate about?
-Typical outdoors guy, spending time with family, and coaching youth programs to encourage strong ethics.

5) Can you share a memorable accomplishment or project you’re particularly proud of during your time here?
-Thaden CP-3 was a project that has a personal effect on who I have become in this company.
