Last week, East/West Industries (EWI) proudly supported and hosted the 2026 Annual Oxygen Standardization Coordinating Group (OSCG) conference, bringing together technical experts committed to shaping and advancing oxygen safety systems.
The three-day event underscored the need, current advancements, and critical work required for the future of oxygen safety systems within the military and commercial sectors. Almost 100 attendees attended the event on Long Island, NY, which included three days of technical discussions and a tour of EWI's Ronkonkoma, NY, facility.
EWI President Teresa Ferraro began with an opening statement that set the tone for collaboration and forward thinking. We were also privileged to welcome Congressman Nick LaLota (NY-01), who delivered a spirited keynote address highlighting the importance of continued support and investment for the Defense Industrial Base, and in bringing together industry and government to advance life-saving technologies.
Additionally, EWI Vice President Michael Vetter presented EWI breakthroughs in providing legacy and modern-day oxygen systems and the company's commitment to supporting the warfighter, the importance of collaboration, and the critical work still ahead in the military and commercial oxygen markets. In addition to EWI, speakers from government, industry, and academia gave presentations. SAFE Association Board member Mike Vetter gave a special introductory presentation on the SAFE association to introduce OSCG attendees to SAFE and emphasize the overlap between the two communities and the opportunity for collaboration.
