Are your toilets or showers backing up? How do you know if it is signs of a larger problem? The cause of many whole home backups are shifts in the sewer line. These shifts, breaks, or bumps in the sewer line are often caused by shifts in the foundation. The best way to verify if you have a main sewer line problem is to have a inspection camera look and determine the extent of the damage.

Tank vs Tankless which is right for you. Here are a few things to think about when deciding.

Tankless Water Heater Pros & Cons
PRO
- Life expectancy of 20 years; which is almost twice the life of the tank water heaters
- Space saver; can go in smaller spaces since there is no tank
- Quick delivery of hot water; receive 2 to 3 gallons of hot water per minute

CON
- Cannot handle too many simultaneous users on one water heater
- Upfront purchase price is typically more than tank water heaters
- Gas tankless water heaters may have a constantly burning pilot light
- May require major changes to home to accommodate the water heater

With the recent freeze we have seen several tankless water heaters fail or leak. These systems have a self diagnosing feature and will often tell you an error code which narrows down the problem.
