We're lucky to have some really great schools that are a big part of our community!

Today, we got to see the amazing work of Dirigo High School and Dirigo Middle School's staff up close while taking part in Diversity Day.

Our VP of External Affairs, Katie Adams, had the chance to talk with students about the role the Rumford Mill plays in the global economy, and it led to some great conversations.

It was especially fun to meet so many students who have family and friends working at the mill. Huge thanks to Dirigo’s teachers and students for such a welcoming and energizing day! 😎🤩🥰

What keeps a paper mill running? WOOD CHIPS!

We source this crucial piece of our puzzle from all over Maine and New England. Last week, some of our team took a field trip to the Shelburne Chip Mill. This single facility debarks and chips over 600,000 tons of hardwood and softwood every year before sending it our way. Those chips head straight into our pulp line, eventually becoming the paper that rolls off our machines!

Through this process we’re proud to say no part of the tree goes to waste.

🌿 Softwood Bark? Turned into mulch.
🪵 Hardwood Bark? Used for fuel.
🔥 Sawdust? Compressed into wood stove pellets.

There’s teamwork, innovation, and care every step of the way - from forest to finished roll! 🌲➡️📄💚
