The MagWeb is a powerful and cost effective tool for remotely monitoring Magnum inverters and accessories. The MagWeb system connects to the Magnum network and provides live internet monitoring of the inverter, battery monitoring, and AGS.

But which MagWeb should you get? We offer two models: the Magweb-E (ethernet) and MagWeb-W (wireless).

The MagWeb-E connects directly to your always-on internet connection, typically meaning your internet connection and inverter system are relatively close to one another.

However, if your inverter system is a distance away from your internet connection, you'll want the MagWeb-W. This doesn't mean it communicates via WiFi, but rather that he can communicate with the gateway up to 300' away.

Some common questions we get regarding our Automatic Generator Start (AGS) modules include: "Which version do I need?" And "Which version do I have?"

Thankfully these are pretty easy and straightforward. If you have a Magnum inverter and remote, we would recommend getting the Network version of the AGS (AGS-N) so you can program the AGS via the remote. If you don't have the Magnum inverter, you'll want the standalone version (AGS-S).

But if you already have an AGS, how do you tell which one you have? Thankfully, we made it relatively simple - the Network version has a flat faceplate and says "Network Version" on it. The Standalone version has dials on it in order to program it, and will say "Standalone Version" on it. There are instances where people have a Magnum inverter and a Magnum AGS, but they have the Standalone version, so it's important to note these differences.

Our AGS modules can be used with most generators that use an electric start and automatic choke - which thankfully includes most major generator brands. You can find a list of wiring diagrams to integrate these AGS modules in with your generator here: www.magnum-dimensions.com/References/AutoGenStart

Inverter or Inverter/Charger? That is the question.

If you're setting up your off-grid or backup power system, don't get stuck with the wrong gear! While they sound similar, they play very different roles in your power setup.

The Basic Inverter: (Like our CSW series)

What it does: Inverts DC power from your batteries to AC power for use by your appliances

The Vibe: One-way street. It takes power out of the batteries, but it can't put it back in.

Best for: Simple setups where you already have a way to charge your batteries (like solar or a converter).

The Inverter Charger: (Like our MS series)

What it does: It's a 2-in-1 powerhouse. It will invert DC to AC like the basic inverter, but it can also convert AC (like grid or generator) into DC to charge your batteries.

The Magic: With the internal transfer relay, if the power goes out, the inverter will switch on within 16 milliseconds in order to keep your appliances running without a glitch!

Best for: RVs, boats, or home backup systems where you want seamless, "set-it-and-forget-it", power.

So which one do you need? If you just need to power a laptop in your car, the Basic Inverter works great. If you want a smart system that keeps your batteries topped off as well, the Inverter/Charger is for you!

Choosing the right power inverter can be the difference between a seamless off-grid experience and a "why isn't my appliance working?" headache.

Here's a quick breakdown and comparison between Pure Sine Wave and Modified Sine Wave power:

Pure Sine Wave is considered the "Gold Standard". It has grid-quality output and is best for sensitive electronics (CPAPs, high-end laptops), digital clocks, and anything with a microprocessor.

Modified Sine Wave is considered the "Workhorse". Instead of a smooth curve, it moves in jagged, stair-stwp increments. This is a cost-effective way to power simple motor loads and resistive loads.

Whatever you need, Magnum Energy has an option for you. Whether you need the precision of our MS Series (Pure Sine) or the rugged affordability of our ME Series (Modified Sine), our inverters are built for durability and ease of use!

Are you making the switch to lithium batteries? If so, make sure you disconnect the Battery Temp Sensor from the inverter. Many people disconnect the temp sensor from the batteries, but the BTS is reading the air temperature around the batteries, so if you don't disconnect the temp sensor from the inverter, the inverter will still compensate the charging voltage (which lithium batteries don't like).
