Inverter or Inverter/Charger? That is the question.
If you're setting up your off-grid or backup power system, don't get stuck with the wrong gear! While they sound similar, they play very different roles in your power setup.
The Basic Inverter: (Like our CSW series)
What it does: Inverts DC power from your batteries to AC power for use by your appliances
The Vibe: One-way street. It takes power out of the batteries, but it can't put it back in.
Best for: Simple setups where you already have a way to charge your batteries (like solar or a converter).
The Inverter Charger: (Like our MS series)
What it does: It's a 2-in-1 powerhouse. It will invert DC to AC like the basic inverter, but it can also convert AC (like grid or generator) into DC to charge your batteries.
The Magic: With the internal transfer relay, if the power goes out, the inverter will switch on within 16 milliseconds in order to keep your appliances running without a glitch!
Best for: RVs, boats, or home backup systems where you want seamless, "set-it-and-forget-it", power.
So which one do you need? If you just need to power a laptop in your car, the Basic Inverter works great. If you want a smart system that keeps your batteries topped off as well, the Inverter/Charger is for you!
