An Unusual Winter in Salt Lake City

It’s been one of the warmest winters on record here in Salt Lake City, and with little to no snow in the valleys, it’s felt more like an early spring than mid-winter.

While that’s been a nice change of pace, it’s also created a unique window where certain landscaping, maintenance, and outdoor improvements can be addressed much earlier than usual — sometimes even in January.

Every year is different, and this one is a reminder that timing matters. When conditions allow, thoughtful planning and proactive care can make the rest of the year smoother.

A look at how this space started - and where it ended up.

This project began with a challenging layout and limited functionality. Through thoughtful planning, material selection, and attention to detail, we reworked the space from the ground up, including new concrete driveway work, stairs, and approach to create a cleaner, more usable area that feels intentional and finished.
