Please be advised there is a full weekend closure on the westbound frontage road of Loop 1604 at Agora Parkway to the northbound frontage road of I-35 at Forum Access Road scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2024, at 9 p.m. until Monday, August 19, 2024, at 5 a.m. for striping, barrier, and temporary pavement work. Traffic should follow detour signs.

The full closure of Loop 1604 at I-35 has been rescheduled for Friday, August 23, 2024, to Monday, August 26, 2024. The following will be closed:

Full weekend closure on westbound and eastbound mainlanes of Loop 1604 at I-35, full closure on westbound and eastbound collector ramps of Loop 1604 at I-35, full closure on southbound I-35 to eastbound Loop 1604 connector ramp, and full closure on northbound I-35 to westbound Loop 1604 scheduled from, Friday, August 23, 2024, at 9 p.m. through Monday, August 26, 2024, at 5 a.m. for installing steel girders. Traffic should follow detour signs.

Full weekend closure of all eastbound and westbound mainlanes and all ramps of Loop 1604 at I-35 scheduled from Friday (7/26) at 9 pm through Monday (7/29) at 5 am for installing steel girders. Traffic should follow detour signs. All mainlanes of I-35 will be open.

This is the dawn of eastbound elevated lanes of the I-35 NEX Central project near I-410 and Perrin Beitel. There will be roughly 65 columns from Perrin Beitel to the southbound lanes of I-35. That represents about 4% of the 1,500 total columns in the entire project.

A sneak peek at the I-35 NEX Central Project, bridge beams towering over 70 feet tall over Austin Highway at westbound I-4010 stretch towards Perrin Beitel. When completed, this is the view you will see as you descend from the southbound elevated mainlanes of I-35 to the existing westbound mainlanes I-410.

Traffic should follow detour signs.

Special attention should be paid at intersections, where more than a third of all motorcycle fatalities occur.

The I-35 NEX Central project is expanding the I-35 southbound frontage road from Weidner Road to Thousand Oaks Drive. An extra lane has been added to the right side of the frontage road, allowing the closure of the left lane to create more space for the construction of nearly 30 columns of the elevated lanes without reducing the traffic capacity.
