The Councils provide a forum for the construction industry to address building enclosures—the exterior systems of buildings that play such a critical role in building performance and energy efficiency. fessionals an opportunity to exchange valuable information relating to successful building enclosure design through meetings and sharing of resources. Knowledge & Resources: to improve the performance of the building enclosure by providing an objective forum for training, education, discussion, technology transfer, and the exchange of information

Interdisciplinary: for architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, consultants, facility managers, code officials, educators, and anyone else with a stake in high-performance and energy-efficient buildings

Climate-Specific: resource for building enclosure issues pertinent to the unique qualities of San Antonio, Texas and its surroundings

BEC was established as an initiative of the Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC) of the National Institute of Building Sciences and the American Institute of Architects.
