A MESSAGE FROM THE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA FAN CLUB

Sometimes, even the plans we look forward to most must yield to a greater responsibility.

Due to unforeseen military commitments, Battlestar Galactica Fanclub LLC President “DragonLady” will unfortunately be unable to attend Ultracon Of South Florida 2026 and bring the Battlestar Raven-BFC 002 Fleet to South Florida as originally planned.

This was an exceptionally difficult last-minute change. DragonLady was genuinely looking forward to reuniting with longtime friend, Raider One Master Builder Eugene Haggerty and his family, as well as the many friends, supporters, and members of our extended fan community who will be gathering at Ultra Con.

However, service to our country must come first. When duty calls, personal commitments—even those closest to the heart—sometimes have to wait.

The Battlestar Galactica Fan Club extends its deepest gratitude to Ultra Con owners Irving and Vickie Santiago for the extraordinary generosity, hospitality, friendship, and passion they have shown the BFC. Their kindness toward our organization has meant more than words can adequately express. They are truly wonderful people, and we are honored to call them friends of our community.

Although the BFC and Battlestar Raven Fleet cannot join everyone this year, our support for Ultra Con remains unwavering. We are especially proud to support the appearance of Colonial Alliance member Raider One, a tremendous friend of the community whose craftsmanship and dedication embody the very spirit that brings fandom together.

To our fans throughout the Southeast who were looking forward to seeing the Raven Fleet display come together: thank you for your enthusiasm, patience, and understanding. We share your disappointment, and we sincerely appreciate the support you have shown us.

This is not goodbye—it is simply “until next time.”

We wish Irving, Vickie, Eugene, the Haggerty family, our Colonial Alliance friends, every guest, and every fan attending Ultra Con 2026 an incredible convention.

Duty may keep us apart this year, but friendship, family, and the bonds of this community know no distance.

📍We hope to see you at Ultra Con 2027. But in the meantime, show your support and love for Raider One, who will be representing the Colonial Alliance.

There was a time when the fandom was divided, and their first meeting wasn’t exactly easy. One was a seasoned leader. The other was a determined future leader, still learning the ropes from her predecessor and unknowingly being prepared for what lay ahead to take the helm of the BFC. Time, respect, and a shared love for Battlestar Galactica changed everything.

Today, they stand side by side—not as rivals, but as two of the community’s well respected standing pillar leaders, proving that friendships built through mutual respect can outlast any disagreement.

This is what fandom is truly about. 💙

🚨 Well… well… well… 👀

Just when everyone thought the day was winding down… someone decided it was the perfect time to take the legendary “BOOMER” out for one last joy ride! 😂

Rumor has it there was an alleged 50-foot burst of speed across the back parking lot, followed by what witnesses described as a very enthusiastic… battle cry (or was it screaming? 🤣).

No names will be mentioned… but if you know, you KNOW. 😅

Some memories are simply too good not to share. Here’s to ending the day with laughter, unforgettable moments, and a reminder that a little harmless fun can become the story everyone talks about! 🚀😂

Some moments are simply unforgettable! The incredible Laurette Spang stopped by the Battlestar Galactica Fanclub LLC and IFB Interfleet Broadcasting table—not for a formal appearance, but simply to spend time talking, laughing, and sharing stories with fellow fans and members. That kind of genuine kindness and accessibility is exactly why she continues to be so admired throughout the Battlestar Galactica community.

Thank you, Laurette, for making the day even more special. It’s always an absolute privilege to welcome you, and we truly appreciate the warmth, generosity, and joy you bring to everyone you meet.

First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for posting this a little later than planned. Real-life responsibilities have kept me exceptionally busy, but I could never let this milestone pass without recognizing it.

1 July 2026- marked the 26th Official Anniversary of the Battlestar Galactica Fanclub LLC.

As I reflect on everything we have accomplished together since the mantle was passed on to me and I became President in August 1, 2018, I am filled with gratitude. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of our current BFC staff. Your dedication, passion, countless hours of hard work, and unwavering commitment have helped guide the Battlestar Galactica Fan Club to where it stands today.

Together, we have continued to lead the way in preserving the incredible legacy of Battlestar Galactica for longtime fans and future generations alike. Over the past 26 years, the BFC has grown tremendously—not only in membership, but also in recognition, reputation, professionalism, and the positive impact we have made throughout the fandom. None of this would have been possible without each of you.

To every member, supporter, volunteer, cast member, convention organizer, partner, and fan who has believed in our mission—thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. Your continued support inspires us to keep moving forward and striving to make each year even better than the last.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, I am especially excited for what lies ahead. I cannot wait to see so many familiar faces and meet new friends at Shore Leave. It is always one of the highlights of the year, and I look forward to sharing unforgettable memories, celebrating our shared passion for Battlestar Galactica, and spending time with this amazing community.

💫 FIRST TIME IN HISTORY- UNDER ONE ROOF

Whether your journey began aboard the original Battlestar in 1978 or with the reimagined fleet searching for Earth in 2004, we are all part of the same story.

Different ships. Different paths. Different generations.

But one legacy.

At Ultracon Of South Florida, we celebrate the heroes, the battles, the memories, and the fans who have kept Battlestar Galactica alive for nearly five decades. From classic Cylons to modern Centurions, from Commander Adama to Admiral Adama, our shared love for this universe unites us all.

As you all know, one of their guest is none other than , who we recently met at Retro Expo. This con was probably the best experience we have ever had when it came to interacting with the actors and actresses from both shows as they came into our room exhibit to chat with us and interact with the crew and fans there.

Join us as we honor the past, embrace the present, and ensure the legacy continues for generations to come.
