Our friends at Robolink just launched their Kickstarter for Zümi a week ago at CES. She’s a self-driving car kit that’s meant to be a platform for students (ages 10 to 99!) to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and self-driving car tech. They already met our goal of $50,000 but would like them meet their stretch goal. Please consider backing them at any amount (even just $1!).

The students at our PiGRRL workshop fine tuned their soldering skills.They also learned how to strip their own wires and tin them and follow wiring diagrams. Most importantly, they learned how to use a solder sucker and braid to deal with soldering mistakes. City Heights Library Pocket Pigrrl

These kids did a great job on soldering the switches on their gamepad boards for their Raspberry Pi Pocket Pigrrls. They have some more work to do on them, but they will be playing games on them after a couple more workshops.

Girls are interested in technology and making things! Today Fab Lab San Diego taught a group of girls from Access Inc. about electric vehicles and how to build one.

Fab Lab San Diego is having a great time teaching the girls about circuitry and technology. The girls also learned how to solder too. These girls were attentive and determined to work through failures together and in the end came out with a genuine and collaborative learning experience. Access Inc.
