Cardiff Oncology

Cardiff Oncology We are a clinical stage biotech company developing oncology therapeutics to treat cancer indications.

Cardiff Oncology is a clinical-stage biotechnology company with the singular mission of developing new treatment options for cancer patients in indications with the greatest medical need. Our goal is to overcome resistance, improve response to treatment and increase overall survival. We are developing onvansertib, a first-in-class, third-generation Polo-like Kinase 1 (PLK1) inhibitor, in combinati

on with standard-of-care chemotherapy and targeted therapeutics. Our clinical development programs incorporate tumor genomics and biomarker technology to enable assessment of patient response to treatment. We have three ongoing clinical programs that are demonstrating the safety and efficacy of onvansertib: a Phase 1b/2 study of onvansertib in combination with FOLFIRI/Avastin® in KRAS-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC); a Phase 2 study of onvansertib in combination with Zytiga® (abiraterone)/prednisone in Zytiga-resistant metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC); and a Phase 2 study of onvansertib in combination with decitabine in relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). 📢 Phase 2 clinical trial update

Today, Cardiff Oncology announced positive data from CRDF-004, a randomized, Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating onvansertib in combination with standard-of-care in patients with first-line RAS-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC).

“The totality of the data we are releasing today strengthens the initial findings from our December 2024 data release in a significantly larger patient population, and demonstrates that onvansertib could be a novel therapy for the treatment of first-line RAS-mutated mCRC.” — Dr. Roger Sidhu, Chief Medical Officer

We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of patient enrollment in our Phase 2 CRDF-004 trial evaluating onvansertib for the treatment of first-line RAS-mutated mCRC.

This “represents an important milestone in our mission to develop new treatments for a population who have not seen meaningful treatment advancements for decades,” said Mark Erlander, CEO, Cardiff Oncology. “As we move forward, we are eager to continue accruing additional clinical data and advancing towards regulatory discussions with FDA with the goal of bringing this transformative therapy to patients.”

Colorectal cancer patients can endure months of intensive treatment, in addition to countless physician visits and tests. Some treatments such as intensive chemotherapy can dramatically impact quality of life.

Receiving a colorectal cancer diagnosis, or any cancer diagnosis for that matter, can be devastating. Naturally, people begin to discuss treatment options with their physician. Imagine how one might feel to learn that, despite increasing CRC rates — particularly in younger adults — there hasn’t been a new FDA approved treatment for RAS-mutated mCRC in nearly 20 years!

Cardiff Oncology is committed to bringing next-generation treatments to market. Our lead clinical asset onvansertib is currently in Phase 2 development and initial data looks promising. Only through rigorous science and dedicated professionals will patients have new options to consider.

One in 24 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in their lifetime, according to Colorectal Cancer Alliance.

March is , a time to acknowledge the rapidly increasing rates of people in the U.S. and around the world being diagnosed with this devastating disease.

There’s still a lot of work to do, and our team at Cardiff Oncology is working hard to bring a new CRC treatment to market. Together we can — and must — innovate new solutions for a range of cancers.
