One of our favorite parts of working on Camp Yerba was creating the House system🏠

Inspired by the landscapes of South America and the traditions surrounding yerba mate, we developed four Houses: Rio, Luna, Monte, and Sol. From the naming strategy to the identities and graphic system, each House was designed with its own distinct personality while still feeling part of the same world.

Over four days in the Pocono Mountains, campers competed in games, tackled team challenges, and embraced their House identities. Handmade signs, custom artwork, chants, and endless House pride transformed what began as a design system into a living part of the camp experience.

Long live Camp Yerba!📢

One of our favorite parts of this project was getting to build a world rather than just a singular identity. Inspired by the nostalgia of classic summer camps in the Poconos and the rich visual language surrounding yerba mate culture, the system carries through every touchpoint, creating an experience that feels familiar from the moment you arrive while remaining unmistakably Yerba Madre 🧉

Camp Yerba is Yerba Madre’s inaugural camp experience, bringing its community together for four days of outdoor adventure, shared rituals, and unforgettable moments in the heart of the Pocono Mountains.

Forth+Back developed the visual identity for the experience, creating a distinct camp aesthetic that extends the Yerba Madre brand while standing as a world of its own.

Inspired by the nostalgia of summer camp and the natural character of the Poconos, the identity spans environmental graphics, banners, House systems, merchandise, signage, and wayfinding, bringing Camp Yerba to life through a cohesive visual language that feels both familiar and uniquely Yerba.
