San Diego Energy District A plan for energy affordability, competition and environmental responsibility in San Diego.http://ww

The San Diego Energy District (SDED) is organizing and advocating for a public, not-for-profit utility as an alternative to San Diego Gas & Electric under California State Law known as Community Choice Aggregation (CCA). The District is following in the footsteps of Marin County, now up and running as the State's first, clean energy CCA. Other communities like Sonoma and San Francisco are advancin

g with CCA formation. The San Diego Energy District will work to assure that the citizens and governments of San Diego benefit from:

• Energy choice
• Competitive rates with more clean power
• Job growth from local energy efficiency programs and green energy projects
• Protection of current investments in renewable energy projects
• Tailored energy programs that reflect local needs and goals

The focus of the Foundation and its planning is:

• A Standard Feed-In-Tariff for generators of all sizes
• Net Energy Metering
• Energy Efficiency
• Rooftop Solar
• PACE financing
• Storage
• Energy innovation through the CCA platform
• Procurement from the many forms of clean energy including solar, wind, biomass, and geothermal
During 2012, the Foundation seeks funding to complete an Actionable Business Plan for Cities and the County and to educate citizens and officials about this empowering State Law available to San Diego.

California has an emergency. A big one. The state is now overrun by politicians and regulators who are so deeply bought off by Pacific Gas & Electric, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric that it can be called only one thing, the biggest money-laundering operation in history. On June 5th the San Diego Energy District is hosting a virtual symposium, titled “Decarbonize & Take Control of Your Community’s Energy Needs.” Details are at SDED 2020 Community Energy Virtual Symposium - REGISTER TODAY! Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, free tickets are available for government employees, CCA staff/boards, students, teachers, and members of environmental groups.

This symposium will inform elected officials, government personnel, CCA staff, and concerned citizens about the issues, regulations, and resources they will need to be familiar with as they form CCA agencies in San Diego County and other areas in California. Even if your city already has a CCA, we encourage your attendance to hear about some recent regulations and innovations that could affect how you’re currently managing your resources.

Save time and money by getting expert advice. The full agenda is at SDED 2020 Community Energy Virtual Symposium. The topics covered include the issues, regulations, and resources people will need to be familiar with as they form CCA agencies in San Diego County and elsewhere in California. The symposium will emphasize areas of significant importance, including Distributed Energy Resources and other programs such as microgrids and Demand Response that allow CCAs to speed decarbonization and avoid Resource Adequacy risk and high-cost energy purchases.
