On April 22, Co-Founder and CTO Chase Collins takes the stage at the Southern California Energy Innovation Network (SCEIN) Showcase, hosted by Cleantech San Diego.

SCEIN is a California Energy Commission-supported accelerator that has backed more than 80 clean energy companies across Southern California over nine years. Participation is selective, and we're proud to be among the companies chosen.

Chase will pitch ZenH2™ in a winner-takes-all competition for a $75,000 non-dilutive ACE Award from The Brink SBDC Innovation Hub, alongside an investor panel featuring firms including Clear Creek Investments and Honeywell Ventures.

How long does it run? Each Energy Cartridge delivers 1.6 kWh. A 160W refrigerator runs ~10 hours. An 80W CPAP runs ~20 hours.

Is it safe indoors? Yes. No emissions, no combustion, no exhaust. Hydrogen is generated on demand and consumed immediately, never stored.

Where do I get replacement cartridges? Through the ZenH2™ website and Amazon. Details will be shared as production approaches.

Last week, co-founders Mark and Chase Collins hosted the ZenH2™ pre-order launch webinar. Pre-orders went live, the Founder's Edition was unveiled, and the response has been amazing! During the webinar, we announced 250 Founders Edition units for priority delivery. As of today, there are less than 175 spots left.

Here’s what we shared:

Cartridge trials are complete, and UL certification is now underway. The first production run will be manufactured in the U.S., with delivery targeted for Q3 2026. Two pilot programs are also in progress with U.S. utility partners, with families testing units in real home environments over extended periods.

Pre-orders are now open. You can reserve your place in the first production run with a fully refundable $99 deposit. Once this allocation is filled, new reservations will move to a later production window.

Our team at EFG has been heads down building, and we wanted to bring you inside the process before the big reveal.

What you’re looking at is ZENH2 mid-build in pieces. These photos came from the lab this week. You’re seeing the wiring, the housing, and how the cartridge system comes together. It’s not polished in these photos but the full unit is ready and will be shared April 8th!

Behind the scenes, the team has been busy on more than just the hardware and production. We've been running video shoots, finalizing pre-order details, developing our new and improved website and getting everything in place for a full launch.

Mark and Chase will be on camera next week showing off ZENH2, answering questions live, and introducing pre-orders for the first time publicly.

Today, we are announcing a strategic media capital investment from Mercurius Media Capital (MMC), the first U.S.-based media-for-equity venture fund. MMC's network includes Sinclair Broadcast Group, TelevisaUnivision, and Atmosphere TV. The investment from MMC provides EFG with access to premium advertising inventory across television, digital, and out-of-home channels, supporting our initial market launch in California and broader national expansion.

This structure is deliberate. At this stage of development, every dollar needs to go toward UL certification, tooling, and getting the ZENH2 into production. California accounts for nearly one in four U.S. blackouts and has enacted a ban on the sale of new fossil fuel-powered generators taking effect in 2028. The MMC partnership gives us national media reach for that launch without pulling capital away from manufacturing.

We’re bringing you inside the lab today.

This is our open-view demo unit, built to show exactly how ZENH2 works behind the scenes. It’s not the final enclosure, but everything you see here is the real system in action.

Here’s what’s happening:
You insert the fuel cartridge, close the lid, and power it on. ZENH2 runs a quick self-check, then moves into steady operation. From there, it generates hydrogen on demand from the cartridge and water, feeds it straight into the fuel cell, and converts it into electricity while continuously monitoring itself.

Most people assume hydrogen systems store gas. ZENH2 doesn’t.

Shipping ZENH2 Fuel Cartridges Safely:

The word hydrogen often brings to mind high-pressure tanks and complicated handling.
That is not how ZENH2 was designed.

The ZENH2 fuel cartridge contains a stable dry powder. Hydrogen is not stored inside it. It is produced only when the cartridge is inserted into the unit and the system calls for power.

There is no pressurized gas and no compressed liquid involved. Nothing is transported or stored in a high-energy state. From the beginning, it was engineered for consumer delivery and home use.

Because of this approach, the cartridge ships standard by FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

After use, the ZENH2 cartridge is returned to EFG where we operate a closed-loop cartridge recovery system, enabling material reuse and reducing lifecycle waste. The circular economy. We empty and clean the cartridge (we do not use detergents or water in this process), refill with new fuel and seal the cartridge before it is returned into the sales cycle. Waste products are repurposed in an alternative industry. Nothing in our energy cartridge needs to be sent to landfill, which is the EFG philosophy.

Hydrogen-on-demand means the hydrogen fuel is generated only when needed and in very small quantities, from a stable solid-state material, rather than stored as compressed gas or liquid. By eliminating high-pressure tanks and stored hydrogen, we reduce transport, storage, and safety complexities. This was a deliberate engineering decision by our team to prioritize stability, portability, and ease of use for the consumer.
