Anthropic is paying Elon Musk $1.25 billion every month.
SpaceX's IPO S-1 filing revealed it: Anthropic signed a deal to rent the entire output of xAI's Colossus 1 data center through May 2029.
$1.25 billion per month.
$15 billion per year.
For compute.

Annualized, this single customer relationship is worth more than the GDP of 70 countries.

Why? Anthropic can't train Claude Opus 4.8 and future models on laptops. It needs H100 and GB200 clusters at a scale that only a handful of facilities on Earth can provide. Colossus 1 is one of them.

The dependency gets more ironic: Elon Musk owns xAI. xAI builds Grok -- Claude's direct competitor. And Claude's biggest operational expense is paid to Grok's parent company.

Anthropic is also expanding to Colossus 2, scaling GB200 capacity through June.

The 90-day termination clause is the only exit. After the initial 3-month period, either party can exit with 90 days' notice.

Elon Musk's response? "Short-term. Because we might need the compute back."

ChatGPT now remembers your life better than you do.

OpenAI just launched Dreaming V3 -- a completely new memory architecture that runs silently in the background, reading through years of your past conversations and updating itself.

No manual saves. No prompting.

You don't tell it what to remember. It just does.

And it stays current. "You're going to Singapore in July" becomes "You went to Singapore in July 2026" -- automatically, when the trip ends.

The performance numbers: 5x compute efficiency. 82.8% factual recall accuracy. 71.3% preference adherence. 75.1% time-sensitive accuracy.

It synthesizes across three dimensions: freshness, continuity, relevance.

This is not just a feature update. It's a different model of what an AI assistant is.

An assistant that forgets everything is a tool.
An assistant that learns your life over time is a companion.

OpenAI just crossed that line.

Claude grew 306% in one quarter. That's not catching up. That's catching fire, New June 2026 chatbot market share data (Momentic / Similarweb):
ChatGPT: 54.7% worldwide web visits (down from 76.5% in Feb 2025)
Gemini: 27.4% (up 104% in six months)
Claude: 8.2% globally -- but growing 306% in a single quarter

From 203 million web visits in January 2026 to 824 million in April 2026.

In the United States: Claude holds 12.5%.

The AI chatbot market is fracturing faster than any prior tech adoption cycle.

For context: ChatGPT launched in November 2022 and took 18 months to reach 100 million active users. Claude added more than 100 million additional users' worth of web traffic in a single quarter.

And that's before iOS 27 drops in September with Claude as a native iPhone option.

The flywheel has engaged.

750 million people can now talk to Claude -- inside a spreadsheet.
Microsoft Build 2026 dropped the most comprehensive enterprise AI platform announcement of the year.

The Microsoft Foundry model catalog: 11,000+ models. One Azure endpoint. One billing relationship.

It includes: OpenAI GPT-5.5, Anthropic Claude Opus 4.8, Google Gemini, Microsoft's own MAI models, and thousands of specialized open-source models.

The surprise: Claude is now available in Excel Agent Mode.

750 million Excel users worldwide can now invoke Claude to write formulas, clean data, generate analysis, and build automated workflows -- without leaving the spreadsheet.

The competitive twist: in blind evaluations, Microsoft's own MAI-Thinking-1 was reportedly preferred over Claude Sonnet 4.6, and claims to match Claude Opus 4.6 on coding benchmarks.

Microsoft is building its own frontier model. And it's putting that model inside the same catalog it uses to sell Claude.

That's either the ultimate complement -- or the beginning of a long goodbye.

Microsoft just solved quantum computing's biggest problem. 1,000 times over.
The Majorana 2 quantum chip is 1,000 times more reliable than its predecessor.
The technology: topological qubits -- a fundamentally different approach from the superconducting qubits used by Google and IBM.
Traditional quantum computers fail constantly because their qubits are fragile. Errors compound exponentially. A 100-qubit computer spending 99% of its time correcting errors isn't doing useful work.

Majorana 2 changes that math.

The AI connection: a commercially viable quantum computer changes the economics of specific AI workloads -- large-scale optimisation, molecular simulation for drug discovery, cryptographic applications.

Microsoft's roadmap links Majorana 2 directly to Azure AI infrastructure -- positioning Azure as the platform for the first quantum-AI hybrid workloads.

Honest assessment: "within striking distance of commercially useful" is not having one yet. Quantum computing has a long history of promising milestones that turned out to be further from reality than the press release suggested.

The 1,000x improvement is real.
What it enables -- and when -- remains to be proven.

iOS 27 now lets users choose Claude as the AI brain behind Apple Intelligence.

This is Anthropic's biggest consumer expansion -- ever.

Before today: Claude was available through Anthropic's own apps and APIs only.
After today: Claude is a native option on every iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 27.

The math: if just 5% of iOS 27 users choose Claude, that's 100+ million new users. More than double Anthropic's entire current user base.

The commercial structure isn't disclosed. Industry analysts assume a per-query or per-active-user revenue share.

And the timing couldn't be better: Anthropic filed its confidential IPO prospectus on June 1. Adding 100 million potential users one week later changes the valuation story entirely.

Three voices. Three personalities. Users will know which AI responded -- Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude -- because each has its own distinct voice.

For the first time, Apple put AI branding inside the iPhone. And Claude made the list.

Anthropic is now worth more than OpenAI.
On June 1, 2026, Anthropic filed a confidential IPO prospectus with the SEC. The valuation: $965 billion -- after closing a $65 billion Series H funding round in late May.

For comparison: OpenAI is currently valued at approximately $730-850 billion.

The financials:
- Annual revenue run rate: $47 billion
- Q2 2026 revenue: $10.9 billion (more than doubling from Q1)
- Expected first operating profit: Q2 2026 (~$559 million)

That's a company that went from a safety-focused research lab to a near-trillion-dollar public company in under 4 years.

The IPO could happen as early as fall 2026 -- potentially leapfrogging OpenAI to Wall Street.

The risk in the S-1 no one will miss: Anthropic pays SpaceX $1.25 billion per month for compute. That's 14% of annual revenue, spent on a single vendor whose owner runs a competing AI lab.

Two questions Wall Street will ask:
1. What happens if Elon Musk exercises his 90-day exit clause?
2. What is the long-term gross margin when compute costs at this scale?

284 tokens per second. Four times faster than every competitor.
Google's Gemini 3.5 Flash just launched -- and it's rewriting what "fast AI" means.
Intelligence Index score: 55. That beats Claude Sonnet 4.6 (52) and Grok 4.3 (53).

Speed: 284 tokens/second. The next fastest frontier model runs at around 70 TPS.

Price: $1.50 input / $9 output per million tokens -- a 3x increase from Gemini 3 Flash, signalling Google no longer treats Flash as a loss-leader.

At this speed, AI responses feel instantaneous for most tasks. Real-time translation. Live document analysis. Streaming code review as you type.

The Gemini 3.5 strategy: Flash handles high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks. Pro (coming soon) handles complex, long-horizon reasoning.

Together, they're designed to dominate both ends of the enterprise AI spectrum -- from background automation to deep analysis.

The biggest IPO in history prices in 3 days.
SpaceX opens trading on Nasdaq under ticker SPCX on June 12.
The numbers:
- Target valuation: $1.75 trillion+
- Proceeds: $75 billion
- Retail allocation: 30% -- via Robinhood, Fidelity, Charles Schwab
- Syndicate: 21 banks led by Goldman Sachs

For comparison, Saudi Aramco's 2019 IPO -- the previous record -- raised $29.4 billion.

SpaceX is targeting 2.5x that. In one offering.

The AI angle: SpaceX's xAI division generated $3.2 billion in revenue and $14 billion in cash consumption in 2025. Grok, Colossus, and a new federal government contract are all inside the entity investors are buying.

The wildcard: Google signed a $920M/month compute deal with SpaceX. Anthropic signed a $1.25B/month deal. Together, that's $26 billion/year in AI compute revenue -- from two of the best-funded AI companies in the world.

If SpaceX prices strong on June 11, it sets the floor for Anthropic and OpenAI's IPOs. Three near-trillion-dollar listings. One quarter. $160 billion in new AI equity.

History is being made this week.

At WWDC 2026, Apple officially revealed:

Siri has been completely rebuilt -- powered by a custom 1.2-trillion-parameter Google Gemini model, licensed from Google at $1 billion per year.

iOS 27 ships with a multi-AI Extensions system: users now choose between ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude as the brain behind Apple Intelligence.

A standalone Siri app. Dynamic Island integration. Personal context access -- emails, photos, messages, files. On-screen awareness.

iPhone 11 is dropped from iOS 27 support. iPhone 15 Pro or newer required for full AI features.

And Tim Cook? He hands the CEO role to John Ternus on September 1.

After two years of broken promises and a $250 million settlement over advertised-but-undelivered Siri features, Apple delivered.

The most consequential AI platform decision in a decade: Apple now lets you pick your AI.
