And so starts a new solar-powered chapter for the County of Ventura ☀️
Yesterday, our team joined the County at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new 7.7 megawatt-DC solar and storage expansion project at the County Government Center. Developed by ForeFront Power in close collaboration with the Ventura County General Services Agency, this system is one of the largest solar canopy-plus-storage projects in California.
This system will generate nearly 9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity every year, offsetting more than half of the Government Center’s energy use. With a fixed electricity rate providing budget certainty, the solar-plus-storage system is projected to save the County over $21 million in energy costs over its lifetime.
Ventura is setting a new standard for local government across California, and we’re honored to be part of it. Thank you to the County for its partnership, and to Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and her staff, whose advocacy for clean energy and storage policy helps make projects like this possible.
Congratulations to the County on this achievement! 🎉
