THBA (SHAC/THIMBY/TMI) students from UC Berkeley’s Architecture & Engineering program explored the latest eco-friendly materials and innovative building techniques to answer these big questions!

Here’s what they asked:
❓ How can EPS foam be managed sustainably?
❓ Can modern panels be adapted to any architectural design?
❓ Are there limits on size, height, or width when using new materials?

Every step we take in learning about cutting-edge building technologies brings us closer to our next THBA build!

🏗️ Progress: 85% We’re moving! 🚛 The THBA BuildLab Program tiny home is on its way to its new location. The structure is up, the foundation is strong, and we’re at 85% completion. The final touches are coming next, and we’ll be finishing everything on-site to get it move-in ready.Seeing this build come to life has been incredible. 2025 is off to an incredible start! 🚀

We’re making big moves at THBA! Our students are putting their skills to work, and it’s amazing to see everything coming together.

THBA BuildLab Program just hit a major milestone-our last tiny home build is officially being transported to its new home!

THBA (SHAC/THIMBY/TMI) Design Studio Program - students at UC Berkeley have wrapped up their Autodesk Revit sessions and took a field trip to the office of ThermaSteel West where we learned about factory built steel insulated panels.
From designing to experiencing real-world applications, they’re bringing fresh ideas into the world of attainable housing.

And this is just the beginning. We’re gearing up for bigger builds, smarter designs, and even more hands-on learning. 2025 is going to be huge!
