I really enjoyed sprucing up this entertainment center for our customer! The butcher block countertops look so stylish with the handmade birch doors! I really like the way it looks after the customer painted the inserts of the shaker doors, it creates such a beautiful contrast between the natural wood and the gray!

GOOD ENOUGH ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH

Ever heard someone say, "It's good enough for who it's for?" At Olsen Custom Carpentry PLLC, we beg to differ! "Good enough" is great for a Tuesday night dinner (don't judge our microwave meals!), but for your home's custom carpentry, it's a recipe for regret. Dear Bubble Level,
It's not me, it's you. We've had some good times, sure, but things just aren't level anymore between us. I've found someone new – someone precise, efficient, and who doesn't give me eye strain trying to find that tiny air pocket.

Yes, I'm talking about my laser level. It projects perfect lines, saves me tons of time, and frankly, it just gets me. No more squinting, no more "is it just me or is that off?" arguments with myself.

So, while I'll always cherish the memories (mostly of frustration), I've seen the light. I'm moving on to brighter, straighter horizons. You can keep your little bubbles; I'm all about the beams now.

May marbles always sit still on your countertops.

My table saw and I have an understanding: it helps me cut wood, and I help it not cut me. It's a relationship built on trust... and keeping all my fingers.

Measuring once is like just grabbing a piece of wood and guessing if it's the right size for the side of our birdhouse. We might think, "Hmm, this looks about right!" and cut it. But what if it's too short? Or too long? If it's too short, there will be a big gap, and the wind and rain will get in, and the little bird won't be warm and safe. If it's too long, it won't fit with the other pieces, and our birdhouse will be crooked or won't even go together!

Once we cut the wood, we can't make it longer again! It's like if you cut your hair and it's too short – you have to wait for it to grow back! If we cut our wood the wrong size, we might have to throw it away and get a brand new piece, and that's a waste of wood and makes our project take much longer.

By measuring again and again, we can be sure everyone will fit perfectly. Measure twice, cut once, and your projects will be successful!
