Before & After | Oil-Fired Furnace Replacement

This oil-fired furnace was only 8 years old when it failed prematurely due to neglect and improperly configured ductwork.

This project was much more than a simple furnace replacement!

Along with installing the new heating system, we designed and fabricated custom ductwork specifically for this installation correcting the previous airflow issues and allowing the new furnace to operate as intended.

Take a look at the before and after photos! The custom ductwork is a great example of the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride we put into every installation.

At Hyson Mechanical we don't just replace equipment. We make sure the entire system is set up for long-term performance.

Tempted to turn on the heat?

But what happens when you turn up the thermostat… and nothing happens?

Here are 6 Pro Tips to help troubleshoot some of the most common reasons your thermostat and heating system may not be communicating:

Check your thermostat setting — Make sure it’s set to HEAT and raise the temperature a few degrees above the current room temperature.

Check the thermostat batteries — If your thermostat uses batteries, replacing them is an easy first step.

Check the service switch — Make sure the furnace or boiler emergency/service switch wasn’t accidentally turned off during the warmer months.

Check the circuit breaker — Look for a tripped breaker associated with your heating system.

Check your fuel level — If you heat with oil or propane, make sure you have fuel in the tank.

Give it a few minutes — Some heating systems have a built-in delay between the thermostat calling for heat and the system starting.

⚠️ PRO TIP: If your heating system tries to start but won’t fire, don’t repeatedly press the reset button. That’s when it’s best to have a professional take a look.
