Today’s job was a full evaporator coil and TXV replacement after we located a refrigerant leak in the original coil.

We removed the failed coil, installed a brand-new evaporator coil and TXV, and got the system back to operating the way it should.

Sometimes the problem isn’t the whole system — it’s one component that needs to be properly diagnosed and replaced.

Finding a refrigerant leak isn’t always as simple as looking for it.

This system had been experiencing an ongoing refrigerant leak for some time, so we performed a thorough electronic leak search to track down the source.

Using specialized leak detection equipment, we carefully inspected the system and its refrigerant circuit to pinpoint where the refrigerant was escaping.

Finding the leak is only the first step. Our goal is to properly diagnose the problem, explain our findings to the homeowner, and provide the right repair—not just keep adding refrigerant and hoping for the best.

Another garage upgrade completed yesterday

We installed a Mitsubishi Electric mini split to bring reliable, efficient cooling to this garage and make the space much more comfortable to use year-round.

From equipment placement to line set routing and finish work, we took the time to keep everything clean and intentional while working around the existing space.

Your AC system can be new and still get dirty fast.

This evaporator coil was only about a year and a half old, but the home had been going through remodeling construction. With all the drywall dust and construction debris in the air, the system was pulling that dust right through the return and onto the evaporator coil.

As you can see, the buildup was significant. The restricted airflow was causing extremely high static pressure, and it was also contributing to water overflowing the drain pan and dripping from the coil.

Today we pulled the coil and gave it a thorough cleaning to get the airflow back where it needs to be.

I unfortunately forgot to grab the after pictures 🤦‍♂️ — but sometimes the before pictures tell the whole story.

This is also a great reminder of why proper filtration matters. Your filter isn’t just there to keep dust out of your house. It’s there to help protect the equipment that’s working hard to keep you comfortable.

If you’re doing remodeling or construction in your home, it’s especially important to protect your HVAC system from all that fine dust and debris.

A clean coil means better airflow, better efficiency, and a system that can do its job the way it was designed to.

Another Mitsubishi mini split install completed today.

This one was for a client looking to make their garage a little more comfortable and usable year-round. We installed a Mitsubishi Electric mini split to give the space its own dedicated cooling without having to add any ductwork.

I’m really happy with how this one turned out. We took the time to keep everything clean and organized, from the refrigerant lines and electrical to the placement of the condenser and wall-mounted unit.

A mini split can be a great option for garages, workshops, bonus rooms, and other spaces that don’t have existing ductwork.

Yesterday’s job we have a warranty compressor replacement. Also found some wiring mistakes from the original installation that cause the unit to only run in low stage!
