The Skydio X10 is now Blue UAS-cleared. That matters. But a cleared aircraft does not automatically make every file it captures part of a trusted workflow.
On July 23, Skydio announced that the commercial X10 joined the federal Blue UAS-Cleared List. For agencies, critical-infrastructure owners, and contractors, that is a meaningful procurement milestone: the listed platform has cleared federal review tied to cybersecurity, supply-chain integrity, and NDAA compliance.
But the aircraft is only the first link in the chain.
After capture, project data may move through the controller or removable media, processing applications, user accounts, cloud or local storage, backup systems, and delivery portals. At each handoff, access can expand, controls can change, and responsibility can become less clear.
That is why Overwatch defines the data path with the client before takeoff:
Capture → Transfer → Process → Store → Deliver
Around that path, we define six controls:
1. Platform: the aircraft, sensors, components, and configuration assigned to the mission.
2. Data path: how files move from capture through processing and final delivery.
3. Software: the applications, accounts, and integrations that will touch project data.
4. Access: who may view, modify, download, or share the files.
5. Retention: where data is stored and backed up, how long it is retained, and how it is closed out.
6. Delivery: the method, format, and permissions used for final delivery.
This matters most when imagery reveals asset condition, site layout, security measures, operating infrastructure, or other client-sensitive information.
