I help service business owners build AI systems that follow up with leads, book jobs, and run their back office - without hiring more people or letting go of the ones you already trust.

Quick truth about service business websites: nobody visits your site to browse everything you offer.

They have a leak, a broken unit, an overgrown yard. One problem. They want to see, in the first 5 seconds, that you solve it and how to book you.

Keep the full services list on its own pages so Google can still find you for searches like "landscape design and install." But your homepage? Lead with the problem, not the menu.

Here's how homeowners actually vet a contractor before calling.

Step 1: they look for your license number. Real companies put it right up front. "Licensed and insured, here's the number." Then they pull it up with the state to confirm it's current.

Step 2: they scan for misspellings. One typo on your site and they quietly move to the next company.

You can be the best tech in your county and still lose the job in that 30-second check. Make your online presence pass before the phone rings.

Quick heads up for homeowners and service pros.

A lot of the 'local landscaping companies' you find online are not companies at all. They are lead resellers. You call thinking you're hiring them, and they route you to some random person you've never heard of, then collect a fee for handing off your info. You have no idea if that person is licensed or insured.

It's rough on consumers AND on the legit local pros competing against a middleman.

If you run a service business, own your local presence instead of renting leads. Websites + AI systems that book jobs for the trades: https://j1systems.pro/go/facebook

Ran a live test on stream: called a landscaping listing and gave them the wrong business name on purpose. Figured if they were legit, they'd correct me fast.

They answered as a completely different company. So who's actually picking up when homeowners call that number?

This is why owning your own listing and your own phone line matters. If a middleman sits between you and the customer, they own your leads, not you.

So I did a live test. Called a landscaping company from one website, then called a totally different company from another website. Same guy, Jason, answered both times.

These are lead-gen middleman sites. They look completely legit, they rank in your city, and every call gets rerouted to whoever's paying for the leads that week. Your customers think they're calling a local company. They're calling a broker.

This is exactly why owning your local presence matters. Websites + AI systems that book jobs for the trades: https://j1systems.pro/go/facebook

Here's a two-tool setup anyone can run today, and both tools are free.

Take your website URL and paste it into NotebookLM, Google's free research tool. Then open ChatGPT in temporary mode so it's not pulling from your past sessions and clouding the output.

NotebookLM's usage limits reset every single day. You'll most likely never hit them.

No setup cost. No configuration. Just your URL and two open tabs.

Most people don't realize NotebookLM is completely source-locked.

It won't pull from the internet. It won't guess. It only answers from what you put on the left side. If your source says the moon is purple, it tells you the moon is purple.

Left side = your sources. Middle = your chat interface. Right side = notes, infographics, slide decks, and flashcards.

Feed it the right context and it becomes one of the sharpest tools in your workflow.

Here's something most people skip when using NotebookLM.

If you build your source documents inside Google Drive, updating your AI knowledge base takes about a minute. Change the doc, go back to NotebookLM, delete the old source, re-upload the updated file.

No rebuilding. No starting from scratch. Just a clean update every time something in your business changes.

Quick tip if you're ever filling out a form and hit a question you can't answer on the spot.

Paste the business URL into Perplexity. No account needed. It pulls founding dates, business details, whatever the form is asking.

If it's your own business you probably know it already. But if you're doing this for a client or a demo, this saves a lot of back-and-forth.

Google built a free tool called NotebookLM and it might be one of the most useful things you can add to your business right now.

Jacob Chappell walks through how to set up a second brain that keeps all your knowledge organized, searchable, and ready when you need it. No subscription. No complicated setup.

If you're still running everything out of your head, this is worth watching.
