Turns out not all rack uprights are created equal. 😅 Even the same rack from the same supplier can vary just enough to make fitment a headache.

I picked up this idea from (thanks Mario 🤘) and swapped the fixed pin for a threaded bolt. Then added a knurled nut via , and now you can lock the footplate exactly where it needs to be for YOUR rack.

Simple change. Better fit. Less wobble.

So what do you think… should this become the standard setup on all my footplates? 👇

Everybody pictures metal fab as sparks flying and weld beads stacking up. Reality is a lot more “move giant sheets of steel around and cut them into sizes your table can actually handle.” 😅

Small shop life means my CNC table tops out at 32x48, so every 4x8 sheet of 1/8” plate has to get broken down before the fun even starts. The circular saw definitely makes it easier, but it still surprises me how little time I actually spend welding compared to all the prep work that goes into every project.

Not the glamorous side of fabrication… but this is the job too. 🤘

Three years ago a customer reached out looking for a low row footplate for his Dialed Motion setup.

300+ footplates later, I’ve had the chance to build a ton of different versions in all kinds of colors and setups — and it’s still one of my favorite pieces to make. 🤘

Crazy to look back and see how one idea turned into a staple in so many home gyms.
