Using improper or inadequate ventilation voids roofing manufacturer warranties by causing preventable damage from trapped heat and moisture, which leads to premature aging, mold, and rot. Manufacturers specify balanced airflow (intake and exhaust) for longevity, and they will deny claims if improper ventilation caused the damage.How Improper Ventilation Voids Warranties:Excessive Heat Buildup: Without proper exhaust, high attic temperatures can bake shingles, leading to premature curling and failure.Moisture and Condensation: Inadequate venting traps humidity from daily activities, causing mold, mildew, and rotting of the roof deck, which is excluded from coverage.Improper Airflow Balance: Mixing different types of exhaust vents (e.g., placing ridge vents along with powered fans) can short-circuit the system and violate installation instructions.
